‘Bonding' through royal street parties’?

bbc

Well, we have two avenues to bond in the context of the ‘royal’ wedding.

One, we can bond through street parties celebrating the marriage of two scrounging gits,

Two, we can bond through street parties celebrating the significance of the people despite these two scrounging gits.

Which is to be preferred?

According to Fuhrer Cameron, and the Archbishop of Canterbury, they’d prefer the former. Of course they would, given that the maintenance of the royal-peasant divide benefits their pockets.

But,

According to ed, the latter would be the most prudential.

Through the former, we have people trying to get the best out of social relationships whilst celebrating a system that brings out the worse in us and turns us into opportunists, or people who just can’t afford to love our neighbour as we love ourselves.

That is the difference between bonds being formed to make the best out of a bad situation, and a bond being formed to make the best of ourselves. To choose the former is nothing short of treason.
Through the latter, we will have people who come together in the bond of truly appreciating that it is the class system that compromises our ability to love each other as we love ourselves. Through the latter, we come together in recognition of the fact that if it wasn’t for the class system, and unduly advantaged people like Willie and Kate, we will be able to do more for each other than this thus mutually-alienating system will allow. Getting together on a significant occasion such as this would be our way of engendering awareness that it is the class system that is the problem as opposed to us not having enough street parties to fool ourselves into thinking that we are truly a community when we behave in the inverse between ‘royal’ weddings and divorces. We will be saying, also, that we aren’t the sort to feel important through the adventures of the upper classes/celebrities/royals but our own potentials.

That is the difference between bonds being formed to make the best out of a bad situation, and a bond being formed to make the best of ourselves. To choose the former is nothing short of treason.
